The Mackinnon Centre Skills Development Service

The skills development service supports the individual rehabilitation needs of adults who experience physical disability, progressive illness, brain injury, or sensory impairment.

Our daytime programmes are short term, person centred, and outcome focused; experienced staff deliver sessions in a range of activities (e.g. cooking, art & crafts, music, physical activity, digital skills), chosen to support individual rehabilitation goals.

We welcome referrals from health & social care professionals.

Services Offered

  • Physical Disability

The centre is a fully accessible, purpose built facility.

Those who attend may have a newly acquired disability following trauma or illness, or a lifelong disabling condition. They may experience limitations in their physical and/or cognitive abilities, and have a range of associated practical, social and emotional needs. The Mackinnon Centre’s purpose is to empower these individuals to manage the associated life changes and transitions by learning, developing and regaining key skills.
